      40k people consuming in Germany – a real economic factor near the bases costing Germany not one cent (as long as there is no shutdown and Trump pays his soldiers paychecks…). Classic AfD request: Demand something without any benefits, that sounds solid but would result in loss for everybody.

      So yeah…they don t care about Europe at all.

      Delegitimization campaign against the recent sentiment push towards more independence from the US.

      It’s a new version of a “Boogeyman” that the Trump US uses together with Putin and friends. 

      You’re supposed to turn away from the idea of independence from the US now because otherwise you would supposedly side with far-right extremists.

      Chropalla is a not so hidden loudspeaker for the Kremlin, thats the simple reason.

      Also there is a split in the AFD how to deal with the Iran war, because the AFD has a large pro-Trump/MAGA fraction, however the Venezuela and Iran attacks do not align with the pro-Kremlin fraction.

      Chrupalla is a east German AFDler, they are generally a bit more aligned with the Kremlin than West German AFDler, as there is rarher insane DDR nostalgia.

      And in general the AFD are following isolationist ideologies.
      So, it’s complicated.

      There is a strong cognitive dissonance in the party.
