  1. For context, this was the Avi Lewis-aligned change slate, which beat out the Canadian Labour Congress/PSAC-aligned continuity slate. It likely signals a strong performance for Lewis in the leadership vote, as the continuity slate was expected to overperform and win amongst convention-goers, while the change slate was only put together as a last-minute alternative four days ago.

    People may also recognize Libby Davies as a former NDP MP and deputy leader under Jack Layton, who is returning to serve as party VP.

  2. This is a big deal. Unlike the leadership vote, only those attending convention vote for these positions. Convention is usually more pro-establishment as a large chunk of the delegates are current or former staffers. This slate winning suggests a full takeover of the party apparatus by Team Lewis.
