    Too big to fail, too big for risk. One bad product and publisher-overlords shutter a studio, lay off hundreds if not thousands.

    Everything is UE5, everything is asset store remixes, remakes, remasters, rereleases.

    Gaming was made great by risktakers, auteurs pushing the edges, trying new things, pushing boundaries, putting their whole pussy into it, but now it’s just shareholder oligarchs demanding line go up, no mistakes, no stumbles, and no failures.

    Everyone is scared to try things new, even the indie space is falling prey to this.

    It’s a bit bleak.
