      Also, of *course* it’s Poland that just has to be a special little snowflake about something again. Going with four digits instead of two or three.

      5 = „cinco“, which rhymes with „hinco“.

      I work in a computer company with grown men, and if someone says an IP address out loud, they say, for example, 192.168.0.4+1

      It’s totally forbidden to say five (cinco) if you don’t want someone to say „por el culo te la hinco“ („I’ll shove it up your ass“).

      We used to write numbers 351831 and turn the calculator upside down and you would see JEBISE – FUCKYOU.

      Italian here. “104” refers to the law that grants benefits and protections to people with disabilities.
      Over time, the term has come to be used as a shorthand for disability itself.

      Saying “he must have the 104” essentially means “he must be disabled.

      Ah, my time to shine. Allow me to tell you about the magical number 31.

      31 means masturbation in Turkey.

      Back in the day, to masturbate was called to „pull hand“ or, in Turkish, „El Çekmek“, „El“ meaning hand.

      „EL“ is written with arabic letters Elif (Aleph, Alpha) and Lam (Lambda?) but as in Lam-Elif, cuz arabic script goes from right to left.

      In arabic,-and ottoman Turkish using arabic script- each letter has an associated numeric value. It is not in order and has an obscure origin. So while the first letter has a value of 1, and second letter has a value of 2, third letter has a value of 400. This is used in divination and bibliomancy as well. Don’t think too hard about this.

      Elif has a value of 1, whereas Lam has a value of 30. So when you write Lam -Elif, you also write 30-1, 31.

      So to „pull 31“ or „31 Çekmek“ was an incredibly polite and obscure way to refer to masturbation back then. Back then.

      Now it is an incredibly vulgar thing to say and number 31 is forever tainted.
