      the US really needs to develop some means of recalling politicians when their approval drops so low. Need no-confidence votes at every level of government

      It was only a matter of time. Fetterman has spent the last two years systematically alienating the progressive base that put him in office. You can’t spend your weekends trolling your own constituents on X and expect them to show up for you when the primary rolls around.

      Edit: my core platform to start… impeach him day 1. Shut off all defense spending until we’ve got Medicare for all, fully disband ICE, cut all aid to Israel, and invest heavily in green energy. Next up: raise the minimum wage, guarantee voter access for all citizens, tax the rich, tax corporations, fund public education. Then, tax rebates for all, remove all tariffs imposed by the orange menace, guarantee social security for all.

      That’s off the top of my head. I’m sure I’ll think of more.

      He’s not going to be challenged because he’s not going to try and run. Whatever internal polling Sinema had got her to drop before the primary (which she had also dropped out of to be independent by that point). I can only imagine what Fettermans internal numbers look like. If he tried to run he might be the first guy to somehow win negative votes in the D primary.
