I think this deal would have resonated better 4 or 5 years ago

Why not import actual affordable regular gas cars or at least hybrids? Why does it have to be EVs?

The best time to buy an used ev was after the announcement and before another war in the middle east.

Used evs were going for super cheap.

    4. Even if they aren’t that cheep any competition is welcome in this industry car company’s have gone insane with their prices for cars !

No kidding. Too many people looking at these cars in Cina, converting their price to CAD and thinking that’s what they’ll sell for here. In for a major wake up.

Canadians who have been paying attention know not to expect anything for a reasonable price.

    7. Don’t think the whole point was to undercut the Canadian auto market. It was done as part of the broader trade deals with china.

      According to Google:

***Price and Type Constraints:*** By 2027, 10% of imported vehicles under this quota must have an import price of C$35,000 or less, increasing to 50% by 2030, according to the preliminary joint arrangement.

    8. This is Canada, they will be marked up like crazy.

The government and dealerships will want their pound of flesh.
