      The same patriarchal system, and it’s not new. They’ve been doing it in different forms forever. Now they name it something else. Tomorrow there will be another name.

      I’m struggling to understand what they’re implying here, is it that VAD is a bad thing? Everyone deserves the option to go out on their own terms and with dignity.

      We do it for dogs without question and often judge those who prolong it. This is based off the human assumption that they must be suffering. Humans can tell you directly that they are suffering and want to die but we will continue to let them suffer, pump them with pharmaceuticals, take up a hospital bed for months at a time.. Its ridiculous.

      cut back on healthcare -> more sick people -> more depressed people -> more suicide -> euthanasia cuts healthcare costs
