  1. Looks like the bill shouldn’t have too much trouble passing, as it seems the Bloc and Conservatives have already been consulted about it given the list of name changes to ridings.

    The only concern here is Unique Signatures required for candidates, and how that’s resolved, but it is unfortunately necessary to deal with the „longest ballot“ menaces. Hopefully this is the last time we ever have to hear about their ilk.

    All major federal parties allow Non-Citizens to vote in riding nominations and leadership races — despite clear risks of foreign interference

    I agree with many of these measures, including the increasing of fines from $1500 to $2500.

    Now I hope they take a hard look at government conflict of interest laws which currently have a maximum fine of $500.
