    >“The decisive changes introduced by this regulation will make it possible to simply guarantee this straightforward principle: if you come to Europe illegally, rest assured that you will not stay here,”

That sounds great and at least a decade overdue, but until there is actual enforcement, it’s going to be just another impotent virtue signaling, so typical of our (European) politicians.

The European Union is now allowing countries to set up ‚return hubs‘ (deportation) for ‚irregular migrants‘ outside of the bloc. Critics argue that such measures could lead to ICE-style measures, which many are against and many are for.

This regulation passed Parliament in a 389-206 vote from the centre-right and further right, but not without criticism that such measures could ‚push innocent people‘ into hiding out of fear of prison and deportation.

Supposedly, migrants who refuse to leave may be removed after detention and and may even have an entry-ban put on them for the future.

Will this and *should* this lead to change in border policy or not? What reasoning led you to the conclusion you made?
