I’m not typically one to give kudos to a right wing party but Halford did right here:

>“Yesterday, Mr. Chan informed me of serious criminal charges against him,” Halford said in a statement. “Prior to yesterday, the caucus and party had no knowledge of this matter or any related incidents.”

>Halford said the party took action to remove Chan immediately upon becoming aware of the charges.

Will be interesting to see if he resigns or sticks around. There really isn’t much incentive to resign when your job prospects afterwards are rather dim if you have a criminal conviction. Similar situation as the MPP for Sault Ste Marie.
