In an age of drone warfare, aren’t all carriers essentially in the same position as the battleships of the WW1 era like the Bismarck.

They are so expensive and prestigious that sinking them would be a huge win for the enemy, but unable to properly defend themselves as the technology around them had moved on to such a degree that they are obsolete as the war they were designed to win no longer exists.
