      Imagine being a 19 year old kid from Missouri who joined the marines to protect people and you’re sent to the Middle East to go up against the barely pubescent children of the religious fanatics.

      Do you fight the kids? Do you abandon the civilians? Were you too innocent in believing war was straightforward?

      Awful situation, hope it’s resolved soon.

      So let guess the IRGC is planning for if it turns to a ground war giving children guns to fight to give American military and the soldiers on the ground the ethical issue of protecting themselves at the cost of killing kids or just taking the hits type thing?

      Didn’t the British send children to war? There’s a reason we needed to enact child labor laws.

      Reality is no society has ever cared about children unless forced to care about children. World is a horrible place unfortunately and as we speak GOP protecting child molesters, but we’ve moved on from those discussions since this war started. Coincidence?

      I’m not sure what’s more concerning. That they would actually allow 12 year olds to join, or that they had ready made camoflague uniforms in their size at hand.

      There’s plenty of good reasons for toppling the IRGC, but I don’t think Trump has any of those in mind.

      what are your choices? be targeted by „outdated maps“ or fight. i see nothing wrong with this. they would absolutely be last resort, but i think at that age they understand there is no other choice. you can’t say „okay, we’ll make sure they find a bunker“. why? because they don’t have money to build them. they didn’t expect to be attacked. i sure as hell don’t have a bunker to go to if we’re attacked. who does? i only know of one country that has bunkers for everybody! that should say a lot.

      It’s Iran. While I think the current situation is absolutely fucking stupid…..

      It’s a nation with an almost single minded dedicated to fundamentalist Islam. They have had suicide battalions with so many volunteers they had to turn people away. 

      The only country on earth that is remotely similar is going to be NK. And NK is probably honestly a hell of a lot less dangerous. Just leave them the fuck alone to be insane.

      This could be totally true. My ex who is from Iran fought in the Iran-Iraq war when he was 14. He was given a rifle and sent far enough up front he was shot at.

      This simply a win win for iran, more man power, more human shields and more martyrs, If a battalion of those will die people will say the us and Israel are targeting children it works both as propaganda to the Iranian people and to the people all over the world and it also obviously helps with missions

      Nothing makes me more sad than the thought of children serving in the military. And I was 17 when I joined!!

      At 12, man, all I can do is see my daughter and her fear of even being alone in the dark, and her love of giving gifts to her friends…. the fucking generational trauma we serve up with stuff like this. Its crushing.

      Unfortunately that’s nothing new. Iran has been clearing minefields by running 12 year olds through them during the Iran-Iraq war.

      Mandatory reminder that most of the IRGC leadership fought in the 1980s against Iraq, when they enlisted children to run on landmines.
