**CUTIE STREET** (**キューティー ストリート**), called “Kyuusto” ( きゅーすと) for short, is an eight-member Japanese girl group under **ASOBISYSTEM**‘s **KAWAII LAB**. Project. The group consists of **Risa Furusawa**, **Aika Sano**, **Kana Itakura**, **Ayano Masuda**, **Emiru Kawamoto**, **Miyu Umeda**, **Nagisa Manabe**, and **Haruka Sakuraba**. They made their stage debut on August 4, 2024 at TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL 2024 and released their first digital single “Can’t we just be cute?” (かわいいだけじゃだめですか?) on September 9, 2024. The group’s concept is “KAWAII MAKER,” meaning that the members will be KAWAII MAKERS who spread kawaii from Harajuku to the world.
**Group Name Meaning:** “I can be whatever I want to be (CUTIE) and go anywhere (STREET).” Named in hope that the members and the people around them will find what kind of person they want to be.
It makes perfect sense that they’d perform in Korean but dang I was still taken back. Must be wild for haruka to be back in Korea though (some produce stages were filmed in Korea)
Did they performed the Japanese version live and Mnet dubbed the Korean version over it?
Of course I figured that a Japanese act goes onto a Korean show, they have to sing in Korean. The vibe was definitely there though.
LET’S GOOOOO!!! CUTIE STREET TAKEOVER!!!! THESE ARE MY GIRLS NOBODY TALK TO ME!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!
We need more jpop stages PLEASE 🙏😢
I love some of their songs, great to see a crossover
It’s such a breath of fresh air, especially when you compare it directly to K-pop – there are smiles, there are colors, and no one is trying to be sexy. I love it.
