I walked into my daycare one day for pickup a little early. And there was 15, 3-4 year old-ish screaming golden at the top of their lungs. The main ECE was absolutely living it up.

When I asked how long that been going on for (the person getting the admin ready at the end of the day)… 3 hours that level of pump was going… Holy, whatever you put in your coffee or wear around your neck, you do that because if it gives you the energy to do that everyday is something that should be studied… But to determine how we can give that level of energy and pump to everyone.

    It’s no surprise.

All these laws were put in place by a government that SAYS they represent the will of Quebecers, but with the current approval of Legault, it’s pretty clear that it’s all BS.

Those not understanding the concept of secularism should start reading more about it. Hint: It is NOT about banning people working in the public system from wearing faith symbols.

Not in QC and I mind. I’m an atheist and I don’t want my child exposed to religious symbology. Cross necklace, burka, whatever.

My kids went to a subsidized daycare which was extremely Muslim. When new management arrived, the staff started veiling up. Arabic was heard more often than French. Non Muslim staff started leaving without explanation.

Canadians are naive thinking religion is just a question of individual rights. There is a social dimension to it, and members of religious communities have a tendency to capture existing institutions for their benefit, whether it’s city councils, daycare, elementary schools, newspapers, etc.

You’re forgetting the poll that actually matters, and it’s the government poll. Whether it’s France, Québec, or any other place with a culture of laïcité; if the government slips in the polls, they beat this drum.

The reason above is why I’m so cynical when politicians claim they’re „protecting“ anyone. I’ve never seen anyone want to protect me when they were polling in the lead.
