I wasn’t sure the Conservatives and Lib Dems would push for this, but they did.
They also voted again for the VPN ban for children, and in slightly smaller numbers for both a mandatory ban on smartphones in schools (rather than letting schools come up with their own policies), and a review into school uniforms.
There’s a certain irony in the Conservative peers insisting they cannot wait for the Government to run a consultation on this for 6-12 months as this is so urgent after 14 years in power… But what’s that phrase – if conservatives didn’t have double standards they wouldn’t have any.
The Conservatives didn’t even need the Lib Dem votes for the social media and VPN ban.
