Shouldnt Iran be included as well? They were invaded by the Brits and Sovjets because they perceived it as a potential German ally.

Mexico participated in WW2 and suffered attacks from German submarines; several Mexicans also enlisted in the US Army Although the losses were low, I think they deserve to be included in the statistics.

I was in Russia in 1994. There were plenty of older women. There were very few old men.

Why is Hungary so bad? Shouldn’t it be like other axis allies Romania and Bulgaria?

Why not include Iran? Around 1/4 of the population died due to the Anglo-Soviet Invasion and subsequent famines.

Why do Burundi/Rwanda have such high deaths compared to other African countries?

Indonesia did not experience any large-scale ground battles during World War II. The number of Indonesian casualties during the war is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands (less than 1% of the population).

While this figure could rise significantly if deaths resulting from administrative and policy failures (primarily famine) are included, these should be distinguished from war-related casualties.
