> Non-hostile vessels, ​including those belonging to or associated with other States, may – provided ​that they neither participate in nor support acts of aggression against Iran and ‌fully ⁠comply with the declared safety and security regulations

>Iran has „taken necessary and proportionate measures to prevent ​the aggressors and ​their supporters from ⁠exploiting the Strait of Hormuz to advance hostile operations against Iran,“ the note read, adding vessels, ​equipment, and any assets belonging to the U.S. or ​Israel, „as ⁠well as other participants in the aggression, do not qualify for innocent or non-hostile passage.“

This seems like the biggest news of the war. What’s the catch ?

So they didn’t mine the straits?

Because if they did, I don’t think they can really just let ships through a floating minefield.

Its going to be crazy funny if the U.S. or allies pulls a Russian / Venezuelan move through the straight with an illegal tanker. 

At any rate, the Saudi’s, American’s, and whatever allies should be working quick to build and defend a new supply line to the Red Sea. 

What fraction of ships in the strait are allowed vs blocked then? Are they doing this based on destination country?

Non hostile? They’ve attacked almost every neighbor they have no mater whether they were involved or not. I’m not sure I’d trust anything they say
