      For context, the USA has an HDI ranging from a low of 0.868 in Mississippi to a high of 0.961 in Massachusetts.

      Wow. 1/5 of your population being foreign-born? So 20 million foreigners in Germany? I doubt the UK’s is accurate as well, 2/2.5 million immigrants in 2 years.

      I obviously know that France has been a unified country for far longer than Germany, but was the general German population total always higher than France? Or is that a more recent population trend?

      They’re all relatively equal in these metrics. And that is a good thing. Balance between the biggest powers in Europe is a good safeguard for peace between them.

      I really don’t know why we put Spain instead of Poland in the big 5.

      Time to change that.

      Poland is almost an honorary addition to this if you were to expand it by one and make it a Big Six.

      It has a population of nearly 40 million (hard to estimate with a large influx of refugees fleeing the war), and it has almost 80% of Spain’s population.

      Does the UK really have more people than France?? That seems insane to me, historically speaking. Especially given it’s considerably smaller in terms of land area.

      Damn, 110 years ago spain was same population as hungary, now it’s 5 times as much. Also from poorer to significantly wealthier. Well done
