Marginal humanitarian assistance from the west is the most compensation you can expect but even that’s a stretch, considering that there will absolutely be an abundance of people in Iran who will be openly hostile to anyone who isn’t from there.

  2. yeah it feels more like positioning than an actual endgame, setting terms they know won’t be accepted buys them time

  3. They want guarantees from this administration? Trump doesn’t even follow laws he signed.

Trump would build some dachas on the Caspian coast for his boss, surely.

  5. This shows Iran thinks it still has leverage. Countries don’t ask for reparations and guarantees unless they believe they’re not losing badly.

Trump seems open to the idea of lifting sanctions on Iran, which would have been enough to get a new nuclear deal with Iran before this war.

Now Trump still needs Iran to end it’s nuclear program but he also needs them to open the straight and Trump hasn’t figured out what, if anything, he can offer to Iran in exchange.

Trump already tried bombing them and threatening to bomb them and neither got him anywhere.

Trump doesn’t seem to have an actual plan for this war. He doesn’t know how to win it, he doesn’t know how to end it, he knows sending a large ground invasion would likely be both disastrous and incredibly unpopular but bombing hasn’t worked and his ego won’t allow him to sign a deal that is just copy pasted from Obama’s nuclear deal which is the best he could hope for under the circumstances.

  7. Id be grateful if you could all chill for a few more days so my flight isnt shot down as it goes into Abu Dhabi.

Also lol at wanting compensation and guarantees from Trump, lmao even

Yeah, no. Even if Iran was in a position to make such demands, the Trump admin isn’t one to make those types of concessions

compensation would mean also to be open to receive a bill for the cost of the damage Iran caused. So this whole article is a nothingburger.

  10. I just really don’t see a deal that is tenable for either side at this juncture. Maybe another couple of weeks changes the math for one side or the other, but both sides are dug in far too deep to make the concessions the other is asking for right now.

Iran is not going to open up the Strait without all conditions being met, much less abandon nuclear armament. That seal is likely permanently and irrevocably broken.

US is not going to concede its sphere of influence and abandon allies in the Gulf, nor give Iran compensation for a conflict that has cost about a billion dollars a day, this close to the midterm. It would be a slaughter for the Republicans if that condition is met.

  11. Sounds like they did speak to someone…who may have been representing someone else…

Uhm, I think Trump will have the same request. He’s usually looking for someone to pay for his mess.

probably the only legal way to end this unfortuntely. But who will end up paying? (not the us or drumpf)

Compensation to the families of all its victims.

Compensation to the victims of terrorism that it has sponsored.

Iran has a lot of compensation to pay.

As part of any peace deal, Trump should offer Barron for „Marriage of State“ with Iran.

I don’t think Trump has any inkling of the concept of MAD. He seriously thinks he can just say “we win or we nuke you to oblivion” and it’s all done.

  17. Lmao good luck getting compensation and guarantees by the guy who bankrupted a casino

  18. Iran won’t get this, the regime, Aarb countries would be demanding the same for hitting them as well.

  19. The United States doesn’t honor its word and never has. Ask the indigenous people about it.
