  1. There’s a huge correlation with restorative justice versus punishment justice.

    Countries that jail or significantly punish Criminals generally don’t deal with repeat offenders.

    A lot of western countries are dealing with serial criminals who will never be reformed and just abuse the system.

    In the 90’s the rates between West and East were inverted.
    I left my bike unlocked all the time and my grandma’s left their doors open so I could walk in whenever I wanted.

    Such a large discrepancy between England&Wales and Scotland seems unlikely unless it is heavily affected by the way in which robberies are recorded and/or categorised by the respective police services.

  5. These maps are meaningless. Different countries classify robberies differently, numbers do not correlate. Most robberies in Western countries would be counted as theft in Eastern European countries
