      Current number of ICE agents: about 22,000.

      There are roughly 500 airports for commercial use. If ICE is at all of them, that’s 44 at each.

      There are roughly 100,000 polling stations. If ICE was allowed at polling stations (numerous states have laws prohibiting armed forces at polling stations), there’d be 1 agent for every 5 stations.

      Yeah, closing almost all of the polling stations, I thought of that, too. That’d only make it worse for them. Setting aside the fact that they’re not legally permitted to do it, if they *did*, they’re still looking at several thousand people for every ICE agent. They’d be overwhelmed in the first 10 seconds of the stations opening.

      They’re not going to try to control voters by putting ICE at polling stations. It’s logistically impossible. The *concern* is the goal. They want you to be afraid to go vote. They want you to not vote because you think your voice won’t be heard. They’re playing mind games. Don’t fall for it. We have the power to end this, don’t let them bullshit you into giving up that power. Go vote in the mid-terms.

      ICEs scope is going to expand. You don’t fund that kind of money to police up immigration violations. Trump is going to say something dumb like „the ‚E‘ in ICE is actually for „Election““

      Whoever, being an officer of the Army or Navy, or other person in the civil, military, or naval service of the United States, orders, brings, keeps, or has under his authority or control any troops or armed men at any place where a general or special election is held, unless such force be necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both; and be disqualified from holding any office of honor, profit, or trust under the United States.

      This section shall not prevent any officer or member of the armed forces of the United States from exercising the right of suffrage in any election district to which he may belong, if otherwise qualified according to the laws of the State in which he offers to vote.

      Another point I don’t see people making with ICE presence at airports and polls is I think MAGA is weaponizing our hatred of ICE to their benefit.

      At an airport, if we act “disorderly” due to ICE presence, I bet they’re going to try and get lefties on the no fly list as a punishment.

      At the polls, if we act “disorderly”, BAM. Arrest with phony charge and no voting for you.

      I’m just here to point out that ICE has something like 23,000 agents, and there’s 100,000 polling sites across the US. Even if they focused on only 1% of those polling sites and used every single agent, that’s only 20-25 agents per site, to handle thousands of people

      Just some food for thought to remember that there’s a lot more regular folks than there are of them

      Eventually Americans will see a ~~Brownshirt~~ICE agent outside every Walmart, at every school, and on every streetcorner. It will have become normalized.

      ICE WILL be at the polls. A judge will rule it illegal but it will be too late.

      They will absolutely do this. They have demonstrated a pattern of doing something illegal and then backing off weeks later when a judge slaps them down.

      The painful part is that this comes down to “centrists/enlightened centrists/apolitical/lazy” voters.

      We know MAGA and we know our own votes but the “just stay home” crew fucked us in the end.

      I’ve been screaming this from the rooftops. They’re trying to install „authoritarian-light“ where there is voting, but it somehow comes out to be like 275,000,000 votes for the MAGA candidate and 20,000,000 for the other. The election will be so obviously fraudulent but incapable of being adequately challenged because so many people in power will be made so rich from it. It’s so, so obvious. They love Orban. They love Putin. They love Un. This is what they’re shooting for and are very close to getting it. ICE will be yanking random people out of lines at voting locations (those brave enough to show up) and even when those detainees are totally, 100% legal, the votes will have been counted two weeks ago. „Sorry, go about your life now, sorry about the not voting thing.“

      They are locked in, and it will 100% happen.

      The deployment to the airports was a massive fuck up if we use the opportunity: those agents „working TSA“ are unmasked. We need to photograph them all and build a database to ID and ultimately do them all — as well as find and of them who committed rights violations in masks. This our best, maybe only, opportunity to ID these brown shirt thugs. Let’s not waste it.

      If you are in an airport with ICE, photograph them all.

      First off, it’s just flat out illegal to do this. ICE has no jurisdiction or authority over state level elections, nor does the federal government.

      Moreover, they don’t even have enough ICE for it. They have 22k officers, and that’s nowhere close to enough for this plan of theirs. That’s not enough even to just have ONE officer at every voting station.

      No matter how you slice it, this just flat out isn’t something they can do. They’re just trying to scare us into staying home, but it won’t work.

      ICE has little legal function policing an airport and none at polls. Regular military won’t do this gestapo bullshit but ICE really has become Trumps personal army.

      I feel like this is just fear mongering. Legally, the states are responsible for election secure and there would be zero justification for federal government to claim jurisdiction. It also falls outside the scope of DHS. I’m sure they would love to do it, but the federal courts would slap this down so fast. I doubt even SCOTUS would entertain the idea since the constitution makes it crystal clear.
