    • The reform wanted to separate the careers of judges and prosecutors, split the High Council of the Judiciary into two bodies, and choose many of their members by lottery instead of election.

    • It also created a new High Disciplinary Court to discipline magistrates, taking this power away from the existing council, which critics saw as a way to weaken judicial independence and supporters saw as cleaning up a politicised system.
