      Would this be similar to the Canadian deal? The one that the EU seems unable to ratify?

      This is a NO-NO. We have been demanding PDO/PGI in pretty much any other agreement and now the Commission folds? It won’t work. Others will demand the same compromise from the EU.

      Wow, I thought this was a hard redline of the EU? If they weaken DOP/PDO protection, then what’s to stop bigger economies that manufacture equivalents from demanding the same concessions? I’m mainly thinking of the US.
