      Just a reminder that Iran wants 1) reparations for war damage 2) all US forces out of the gulf, including bases, and 3) oil going out via the strait to be settled in Chinese Yuan. 

      I don’t think they’re going to budge from those any time soon. And the US giving in to any of them would be a big fucking defeat.

      So the strait may be closed for a long while.

      Iran has proxies everywhere. They can mine the strait from the coast.

      They still have a ton of ground forces.

      If Trump wants to remove their uranium he needs boots on the ground, let’s see how that works out for him.

      This isn’t a „negotiating“, the us is caving and backing out of our special military invasion or whatever. We are surrendering more or less due to economic, internal and economic pressure.

      Of course this admin will spin some bullshit about how we met our military objectives or whatever even though we will leave Iran more dangerous and antagonistic to the west.

      I hope you mediocre fools that voted for trump are getting what you want lol.

      I’m seeing bot accounts laying the groundwork for declaring victory… „iran is decimated“ „capabilities degraded“.

      In a sense I hope their propaganda works because it gives Trump a face-saving „out“ (at least a plausible out that will be repeated on right-wing radio/cable/net alt reality).

      I dont personally care if Trump saves face or if conservatives can maintain the fiction that they are competent. But I do care about de-escalation. Because the alternative is ground war and long term damage to the habitability of the cradle of civilization.

      Trump got caught lying, so now he’s making up more lies to cover his previous lies.

      The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Iran has NOT been negotiating anything with Trump and nothing has been resolved, like Trump previously claimed.

      So now Trump is changing his story and saying Kushner did the negotiating, but he can’t name anyone he supposedly talked to because they might be killed.

      What a load of crap. I hate having a compulsive liar for president.
