Ich war vor kurzem dort, um einen Geburtstag zu feiern. Wir kommen ziemlich oft zum Planet Play.
Wir hatten das VR-Erlebnis und das Go-Kart-Fahren gebucht.
Das erste Problem, mit dem wir konfrontiert waren, war in der VR: Bei einem von uns funktionierten die Kopfhörer nicht richtig und bei einem anderen funktionierte einer der Controller nicht richtig. Als wir das Personal darüber informierten, sagten sie, dass das Spiel noch spielbar sei, und da es für einen Geburtstag war, beschlossen wir, es aufzugeben.
Bei der Go-Kart-Fahrt waren wir zu fünft, und man sagte uns, wir könnten maximal sechs Personen sein. Daher waren wir überrascht, als sich zwei Personen zu unserer Gruppe gesellten und wir insgesamt sieben Personen waren. Wir mussten oft auf der Strecke warten, weil die beiden anderen langsam waren und einer von ihnen immer wieder stürzte. Einer unserer Freunde war auch neu und da die andere Person abgestürzt ist, sind sie auch abgestürzt.
Das Personal wurde äußerst gereizt und schrie unseren Freund an, er solle aussteigen und gehen. Sie hatten noch nicht einmal eine halbe Runde geschafft. Sie zwangen sie zum Gehen und verweigerten uns eine Rückerstattung für diese Person. Dieser Freund ist ein sehr ruhiger und schüchterner Mensch und war daher äußerst verstört über die Behandlung durch das Personal.
Unnötig zu erwähnen, dass diese Erfahrung unsere Erfahrung mit dem Planetenspiel wirklich verdorben hat. Mir scheint, dass sie ihre Ausrüstung nicht warten und, was noch wichtiger ist, über ihre Ausbildung, Richtlinien und vor allem über ihre grundlegende Etikette nachdenken müssen.

Yep, and you’re not the first experiencing this.
We had an extremely similar experience so not surprised they still act like this, tho last time they didn’t shout loud but they did look very irritated…
If they don’t listen to direct feedback/complaints, Google reviews typically get the best traction in Malta for whatever reason.

Been there go karting myself, it’s an ass experience.
Not only did I feel they externally controlled my speed (to the point where it felt I wasn’t even driving anymore), but the staff feel as if they want you out of there as soon as possible.
Trust me, quite unfortunately what happened to you is the norm in Malta.

Tried it. If I recall correctly, it was over €40 for just 8 minutes. For the price and the time you spend, it is just not worth it. It wasn’t even fun because of the limited speed.
I tried a similar indoor go karting experience in Sicily, it was worlds apart. The speed was mind boggling. I thought the one at Mercury would be the same, but it was a total flop.
I’ve been karting there a few times and cant say i was overly impressed with value for money or the staff either although – as someone who does karting for sport – it was more because I found their lack of knowledge on motorsport basics to be a bit worrying. The experience though is very similar to any indoor karting track experience in my opinion, which is to say that it’s fair to call it karting as much as its fair to call table soccer football.
I dont get what the issue is with having others around though – their online booking system does say theres a maximum of 7 and you need to contact them if you want exclusivity. Having others around is something I experienced in any motorsport rental ‚experience‘ I did, from F1 Drive in London all the way to the Silverstone Single Seater Experience. Navigating slower drivers is part of the game.
And not to be a dick, but blaming a crash on someone else crashing doesnt add up to me. Sounds a lot like they may have ignored basic safety instructions? Doesnt justify the yelling though.
