  1. Adjust for population would be more of an indicator of issue no? This is basically a list of the 10 most populous and dense countries

  2. As someone who has been in vietnam for over a month, there’s no way Germany is above them. As such im going to question the data.

Most deaths in India are massively underreported and are easily attributed to secondary causes.

  4. 2025 death data isn’t out yet but worth noting Chad now leads pollution rankings and China has been quietly cutting down their pollution levels. wild how much can change in a few years

Interesting, sad but interesting. Would China still rank first if the numbers were adjusted for population?

so you’re telling me the countries with the highest number of people have the highest number deaths from air pollution? fascinating

  7. This data would be more useful if it was rate per capita instead of total deaths

Adjusted for population, the US, Japan and Germany are among the countries with the lowest air population related deaths

    Edit: Brazil too.

This is so weird as a comparison, because the IMHE report already includes age-standardized per capita numbers (adjusting for differences in demographic composition). What does this chart add? The „key findings“ are useless.

If you look at those numbers it looks very much like you would expect.

Percentage of population would actually demonstrate this, otherwise this chart is largely meaningless
