She is pathetic. Being a Trump girl is going to come back to haunt her someday.

  2. Absolutely insane that the official White House website chose that first picture as, well, the first picture (let alone choosing to use that picture *at all*) in an official post about a visit by the PM of one of the United States’ closest allies.

The first picture shows very well the politics in Japan, absolutely nonsensical, out of composure.

It’s not a big deal but what was the whole thing with her calling him „Donald“ and not President Trump or even Mr Trump/Trump-san?

Lmao, the white house really made her look pathetic. This is what Trump gets off from. If you act like Trump bitch he embarrasses you, if you don’t follow his whims he gets angry at you. Like pretending you don’t care about him act „more mighty“ like Putin is the only way Trump gets excited about you.

  6. The White House have dedicated, highly skilled and experienced photographers that take all internal photos for meetings with heads of state. These are usually carefully curated to avoid any unflattering angles or expressions, and photo op moments are usually discussed with the press team of the other leaders to ensure they are well aware when their photo is being taken.

The images other than the first *might* be among a typical selection; although they do make Takaichi look a little weak and sycophantic there are some that might say that would be hard to avoid. It is hard to imagine the first was approved by the Japanese press team – it made me think of Howard Dean’s scream, and how one moment destroyed his image. Probably this won’t have the same impact but given Trump’s petulance and penchant for petty power games, this may well be a reprisal for failing to fully assuage his ego.

The only reason I might think otherwise is how utterly clueless Takaichi’s team seems to be about political messaging and presenting a good image, I would only be mildly surprised if it turned out she chose this herself.

  7. The opposition is gonna have a field day with this, and I don’t blame ’em one bit

  8. My impression from what I saw on the news was she looked like a school girl meeting her idol or something. Just her facial expressions and stuff.

  9. Takaichi’s downfall should be studied in years to come. She is practically inviting vultures in her country. The Palintir deal is another 👎.

  11. I saw a bunch of people say „Omg, I feel so sorry for her! How embarrassing!“ No, don’t feel bad for her 🤦‍♀️ She knows exactly who Trump is and still chose to bootlick. The giddy hug, the unneeded praise for Barron Trump, the insistence that she and Trump will be best friends…It was so hard to watch.

  12. Italian medias call her „Iron lady“.

Talk about not having a clue, she has the biggest muppet in Japanese politics… Which says A LOT.
