      News snippet: WASHINGTON (AP) — The Cuban government has refused a request by the U.S. Embassy in Havana to allow it to import diesel for its generators while the Trump administration continues to impose a fuel blockade on the island, two U.S. officials familiar with the matter said Friday.

      The government turned down the request as the U.S. State Department has been weighing a reduction in staffing at the embassy in the Cuban capital of Havana because of the lack of diesel. Such a move would likely lead to a U.S. demand for a similar reduction in staffing at the Cuban Embassy in Washington, say the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive matter.

      The Cuban government rejection was first reported by The Washington Post.

      The White House, State Department and Cuban Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

      Trump’s been trying to position Cuba to be the next country he’ll invade to distract from the Epstein Files. First was Canada, then Greenland, then Venezuela Trump actually attacked, then Iran, and now Cuba. Whatever Trump did, the crimes he committed in the Epstein Files must be so horrendous and disturbing that I *cannot* even imagine what it could be. That’s why he’s so desperate to avoid them coming out.

      I am a pro-democracy minded person but I feel for Cuba. US has to be treated as a bully… US made the other country fate by unilaterally decision by Trump regime and should not be legal…

      Is it crazy I initially read the headline as „US refuses to let US Embassy in Havana import diesel“ because I always expect the Trump administration to do something jaw droppingly stupid?

      We seem to be emulating Israel this year,  ignore international law, disavow universal human rights, kill whole populations. This isn’t the same as sanctions, i hope people understand that. This is a crime

      As a Canadian, I believe we should send humanitarian aid to Cuba in spite of the USA. Follow in Mexico’s foot steps as a fellow North American. A couple of C17s and maybe the Asterix. Fuck the Americans.
