    1. Oh wow, an average Dutch has traveled to many more places than those philosophers

Phyrro of Elis travelled a lot (by the standards of his time) as he accompanied Alexander the Great on his Indian campaign.

    3. Marx was a regular visitor to Manchester, and its factories heavily influenced his writings and his views.

Yet this map doesn’t have him there.

    4. Immanuel Kant is probably wiser than tons of modern-day people that make travelling their personality.

    5. In regards to the two Greek philosophers, the map is ridiculous: Socrates didn’t „travel“ there, he was serving as hoplite in the Peloponnesian war…

Of course various other philosophers of that era traveled extensively (some were even based in Greek colonies in southern Italy, like Parmenides), including Plato, Democritos and Protagoras.

In my mind philosopher’s travel the whole world. I am somewhat disappointed

I propose that philosophers are actually a migratory species, and that the ‘fact’ of their home being France or Greece is actually false!
