    Another Versailles, by the innocent goal of a better location, but in practice to be far from the people.

  2. There should be a map of „capital cities in the middle of nowhere to make them more geographically central“.

    Off the top of my head:

    * Ciudad de la Paz
    * Ankara
    * Astana
    * Brasilia
    * Ottawa (not so much anymore but it started out that way)
    * Canberra (It’s not Alice Springs central but still think it belongs here)

    read that as „world-capital-city“ and was like did I miss somethin?

    And considering the ironic potential of its name, how long before the next war breaks out there?

    Fascinating, I recently learned that the most recent US state to change its capital was Oklahoma, from Guthrie to Oklahoma City in 1910.

    The most „drawn on a map by colonial powers on another continent“ country outline you can imagine.

  7. So they move it from an island that was isolated from the mainland to the middle of the jungle far away from everything else. Makes sense

  8. This map would be a lot more pornographic if it had a title and the name of the country on it.

  9. I absolutely loved the concept of an capital city on the Island while the majority of the country is in the mainland. RIP
