It’s only fair we maintain shareholder value for the oil/gas/energy companies.

I actually think it’s kind of poetic and beautiful we increase the wealth of the wealthiest people and in turn that will trickle down.

    Eventually.

I gave in the other day and chose a fixed price rather than my octopus tracker that changes price day by day

I’ve written the next few weeks of clickbait headlines:

    >“Fridge owners slapped with £11 annual ‘cold food charge’ from July”

    >“Air fryer users to face £7 ‘crispy tax’ in summer price shake-up”

    >“TV watchers hit with £5 ‘screen time fee’ under new changes”

    >“Brits warned of £4 ‘tea-making charge’ coming this July”

    >“Gamers face £10 yearly ‘console levy’ just to stay plugged in”

Looking at you, Reach PLC media…

  4. Before anyone chirps in with ‚we should drill our own oil‘ etc, that won’t be sold at a discount to us or owned by us. Unless you own the companies.

You’d get some tax etc, but it won’t do anything to the price we pay for oil, as it’s a global market.

They need to look at how the energy market works, as currently it’s priced that everything costs the same as the highest priced energy source input into the grid. So it’s basically the gas price that controls everything, yet only makes up a fraction of all the electricity generation.

Fucking mortgage going up about 400 quid end of this month, Electric now going up, constantly paying for water companies to piss and shit in our rivers and seas, council tax gone up yet there’s more fucking pot holes then I’ve ever seen. Absolutely fucking sick to death of it all, honestly.

Just want to give my kids an amazing childhood and take them to amazing places and you just have every cunt and their aunt with their hands in your pockets taking it all to make up for all their fucking mistakes. Middle aged now and should be able to enjoy all fruits of my labor and hard work and when you just think you are BOOM fucking everything goes up in smoke and you’re paying through teeth for everything again.

Considering how unpredictable the current situation is, guestimates for something more than 3 months away aren’t reliable or useful.

  7. So this just gonna keep happening until we slowly begin to starve to death or what’s the plan?

Why are we not condemning the insane lunatics that started this extremely dumb illegal War? Is that such a massive challenge for us? Why do we have to stupidly play along every single fkn time. ‘Yes Sir, very good Sir. What Sir? Of course Sir’.

I’m getting sick of this now as are we all. Is it like this everywhere in Europe or is it just us that’s getting shafted?

Not again 😭 when will this end. I think this is part of trump’s plan, to get oil and gas stock holders more money. And fuel prices rising affects the price of so many things, food etc

  11. I’m beyond angry and fed up, I already skip breakfast most days and have had hand outs from relatives just so I can eat, at this rate people are going to end up hospitalized from malnourishment

    First paragraph:

**Typical annual household energy bills could go up by £332 in July, energy consultancy Cornwall Insight calculates, although the figure is likely to change.**

This isn’t actually news then, is it? It *could* go up £1 or £1m. An advanced form of energy created by perpetually spinning the corpse of Rod Hull *could* be discovered, rendering gas and oil useless. We can all throw the word ‚could‘ around to evoke clicks.

Wake me up when it’s an actual, concrete figure based on actual World events at the time. Until then it’s just more panic, misery and fear-mongering.

Nah, fixed it for 12 months and the forecast for mine now is a drop of £30 a month payment. Worth fixing it for all this to blow over

out current gas unit price is 5.5p and the best I can find right now is 7.8p, that is an insane increase in heating costs especially in an old home that we have insulated best we can but I don’t want to be dumping 20k on external insulation due to the solid walls right now.

I just don’t see an end to this. The prices just keep going up and up and up. Everything! We were fortunate to come into £5000 a few weeks ago, we banked it straight away out of fear. It might help us pay the mortage if things go south.

  16. I can predict the headlines in a few month’s time: „Record breaking profits Oil and Gas producers.“

  17. The energy transition is long process but we’re on the right track to eventually be insulated from this nonsense elsewhere in the world.

Unfortunately, we have the lunatics at Reform and the Greens who want to ban renewables and nuclear which will destroy the opportunity to have abundant domestically produced low-carbon energy.
