      Guessing those Iran experts said some things along the lines of:

      Iran poses no immediate threat to the US.

      Iran’s nuclear program is years away from meaningfully weaponizing nuclear material.

      Starting a war in Iran will cause major disruptions to global supply chains with massive downstream economic disruptions.

      A war with Iran will not be won quickly and is likely to rapidly descend into yet another US nation-building quagmire.
