      Nope, growing prices on oil are leading to growing prices on petrol. So, the state’s oil fund is the only profit maker down there 🤷🏻‍♂️

      That’s not entirely correct. Because it’s more important how the world economy is doing, as the fund has become so large that the return on the fund is greater than the petroleum transfers from the state. Also since the fund is so large, the NOK exchange rate, especially against the dollar, is of major importance for the total value of the fund.

      Ethics aside, Norway is not benefitting from this as much as you think that it is

      Good to know that Norwegians Are so rich. Good for them. But being rich doesn’t mean being happy.

      Norway is now more of an investor than a petroleum provider. We make more petrodollars, but our investment, and the return on that investment, risks suffering more when the world economy shrinks.

      Also, I insist that Norwegians don’t smile, like Scrooge here, over war. It’s not in our culture.
