      Data show that Canadian arrivals to the United States have been down in recent months. Tensions between the two countries rose last year amid President Donald Trump’s trade war and branding of the country as the 51st state. Some travelers opted not to visit under the new administration, citing various reasons, including federal policies targeting the LGBTQ+ community and reports of tourists being detained by immigration officers.

      More than a year into Trump’s second term, here’s what the travel numbers show:

      – The U.S. saw 21.7% drop in visitor arrivals from Canada through November 2025 compared to the prior year, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Travel and Tourism Office.

      – International visitor arrivals overall declined by 5.4%.

It’s too bad we’ve completely destroyed that relationship by electing this fucking guy. Twice. Guess we can kiss the tourism dollars goodbye for another 50 years.

      I’ve quite enjoyed the USA boycott cause it’s made my wife a lot easier to convince to go to Europe for vacations instead over the past year lol

      Not Canadian (Brit), but I’ve been hoping to go to Vegas for a while. That’s not happening now. Looking for holiday destinations in Canada now instead.

      Seattle area with an Airbnb – we used to get about 20% of our guests from Canada. They just don’t visit anymore – guessing we haven’t had a single Canadian guest in about a year now.

      What’s going to really shock them is when it doesn’t rebound after Trump. Once you lose a customer it is hard to get them back.

      I own a small bar in a US border town. The drop off in Canadian business was very noticeable last summer. This summer could be worse.

      I will never go to the US until they get rid of that clown in charge. Even then , they got uncontrollable mass shootings which they’re so desensitized to most don’t even make the news. Corrupt Government openly manipulates the stock market while in the back pockets of lobbyists and endless money for war but none for Universal Health Care or programs to uplift citizens.       I have zero desire to go to the USA anymore. I’ve probably been over 100 times. Used to make many weekend trips driving across the border. Not anymore.

      Who would anyone want to visit America if you make the slightest error in your visa application you’ll be sent to an ICE prison for months with no due process?
