    >Nunavut MP Lori Idlout says she has reimbursed the House of Commons for items bought from her own shop „in error.“

    >Idlout is the sole proprietor of the gallery [Carvings Nunavut, ](https://www.carvingsnunavut.com/)which sells Inuit-made carvings and artwork. Publicly available expenditure reports show that on four occasions in 2025, [Idlout expensed items](https://www.noscommunes.ca/ProactiveDisclosure/en/members/contract/2026/2/7bb43ace-43bb-419b-8e21-f08907cdefc6) to the House of Commons purchased from the business she owns.

    >Members of the Parliament are not allowed to benefit from expenses or contracts charged to the House of Commons.

    Libs know who they want.

Yeah that doesn’t seem great. I know this likely only came out in retaliation for her floor crossing, but I don’t care. **We should prosecute every case of corruption regardless of party.** There are no „oopsies“ in enriching yourself by claiming things from your own companies.

This doesn’t look great on the NDP either, imo, considering it’s only coming out now, in retaliation. The original large purchase was in August — why are we only hearing about this now?

Corruption man, politicians and corruption go hand in hand unfortunately.

    >The total value of the purchases was $1,756. Two $150 purchases were made in January 2025, a $76 purchase was made on June 25 and a $1,380.00 purchase was made on Aug. 27. All were listed as „gifts given as a matter of protocol.“

She’s full of shit. That wasn’t an „error“.

Ahh a champion for Inuit rights and preserver of Inuit art that frauds the government through leveraging these identity issues.

  6. I don’t know man, pretty sure if I did shit like this I’d go to jail so I’m not sure why that’s not in the conversation here.

Corruption at its finest. I take back my words from last week, she’ll fit in just fine with the Liberals.

Politicians ripping off the people they’re supposed to represent – I wish it was shocking at this point – they’ll do anything to screw us over

Should be investigated. If true, it’s stealing, no matter which party you support.

  11. Gotta love how MP’s can get away with stuff like this. The only reason she reimbursed the FOUR „accidental“ purchases is because she got caught. If you steal a car, but park it back in the victims driveway, did you steal it? I’ve never heard of a cop who says „you’ll be under arrest for auto theft unless I follow you back to the victims house and park it back in their driveway“.

This stuff comes out after the floor crossing because someone who knew about it before but didn’t like the floor crossing decided to share it now instead of just keeping it a secret forever.

The worst part is that we all know nothing is going to happen. Nothing. We’re at a dangerous level of cynicism and disillusionment in this country.

Person who has shown that they are willing to sell out her voters for her own gain sells out voters for her own gain.

    Veritably shocking.

  15. Sooo…. she’s the prefect Liberal? Her and Criminal mail theft George Chahal would be in good company.

What a load of BS lmao. That’s not something a person does as „whoopsie, didn’t mean to do that“. The only correct thing to do would be removing her from the position of MP. That’s criminal behaviour and should be punished accordingly.

  17. The bar is so low now for Liberals it might as well be underground. And yet no consequences ever follow.
