Typical Japanese way of dealing with these things. Let’s sweep it under the rug and pretend like it didn’t happen. For all the steps Japan takes forward, they sure take huge leaps backwards.
No punishment for the student who spied on his female teacher. It ’s bizarre. She has all the right to sue the university.

Holy shit imagine not getting in trouble for this. I think my mom would disown me. Literally, I don’t think she’d ever speak to me or let me in the house again. Kid filmed a girl on the toilet and got told to chill. Absolutely wild.
A mere ¥2.2M is laughable
It happened to me 25 years ago when I first came to Japan. I was a bartender and moonlighting as a French teacher during the day. Major company. One of my students, she was 55 me 25, started touching me during the class. Next class I was recording, she literally offered me ¥30,000 for sex. I decided to do the right thing and report it and I was the one who got in trouble. Turns out the whole family was taking lessons at that school and they didn’t want the drama. So I got sent away to another town an hour away from there. End of story .
