    > “The NPS is a long-term investor managing retirement funds and holds stakes in companies in more than 80 countries,” Kim wrote. “However, it does not intervene in the management or personnel matters of individual firms.”

    > “That also applies to the formation of K-pop groups and decisions regarding their members,” he added, referring to the complaints.

This whole saga might be up there as one of the most embarrassing moments I’ve ever witnessed from a fanbase. Who needs haters when you have fans who can’t respect your decision to have a solo career?

I am worried he might take hiatus instead of doing what he wanted to do because of this and clear opposition from his fandom over his decision.

  4. This is so embarrassing and so parasocial of these “fans.” I would say they need to get a life but they clearly don’t see that .

  5. As much as i like kpop the whole boyfriend parasocial thing with boygroups always scares me for this exact situation…..wish these companies werent so damn greedy that they create these intense fan attachments because when stuff goes wrong and the illusion/fantasy breaks people dont know how to act or process it. ..

  6. This has just been very embarassing for the fandom like damn you live like this. This is why kpop fans will never escape having bad rep

  7. Seeing how unhinged people are really over something like this, shows how sad idol lives are to a certain extent – you basically have zero autonomy.

If they’re shaking up government institutions just to vent their own emotions, I’m not sure how that’s much different from Trump supporters.

    This is jobless behavior.

On a more serious note I hate how harassing institutions and private individuals with connection (no matter how loose) is becoming more common and normalized in Kpop spaces. The national pension has absolutely nothing to do with Heeseung. While invested in Hybe belift is just one subsidiary under Hybe and when making investments the pension fund will be looking at longterm expected growth not short term stock flucations or negative press. Additionally behavior like this also gives the entire fandom a bad name and can cause repetuational damage to the group.

I hope the people who did this are seriously embarrassed but somehow I don’t think they will be.
