We don’t need no more “TFW” we need our own kids to get off their asses stop drinking prime and get to working.. I am disabled 37 I got maybe 5 years on my bum leg before it’s all gone and I can’t work no more an what I see is Gen Z calling in sick and not wanting to work an I kid you not TFW under 25 do the same.
People down voting are too young to know of the early 2000s I was a teenager fighting for rights fighting for what is now being abused while watching friends commit suicide making us the suicide gen. So keep downvoting without knowing.
Bahahaha. The most corrupt premiere in Canada. Full audit on this guy. Let’s find all that CCP money.
There’s no „worker shortage“ on the Sunshine Coast, there’s a shortage of employers offering attractive wages. Why do politicians continue to support wage suppression tactics like the TFW programme and why do people continue to vote for them? Baffling.
Yes! Really glad to see this! I hope the NDP ramps up progressive criticism of the current immigration system.
The TFW program and all other temporary residency programs need to be abolished (with a compassionate solution for the people already in Canada — especially the ones who have been here for many years).
The current system has drifted far from the old capped points based, permanent residency based system to one focused on bringing an uncapped number of people in as guest workers who are tied to a single employer (similar to the modern day slavery schemes we see in the oil-rich Gulf states).
Our businesses are now hooked on foreign workers who will work for less and are subject to abuse/exploitation. Business don’t want to try raising wages, improving training, and/or hiring young people to solve their hiring challenges.
If we need more workers (even low skilled ones), then we should be bringing in a capped amount as permanent residents with full rights — through an application process that is done while the person is in their home country and one that is completely unconnected to any businesses.
Wasn’t this the same Eby who railed against Trudeau for cutting how many students we could bring in? Must be an election brewing.
