      Seems like a poor choice. Europe commits to sending material to hit Iran, it is less defense to beat Putin.

      Not surprising as Iran supplies drones and other weapons to Russia for the Ukraine war.

      Europe entering the Iran war will pull more of these weapons and materials to the Iran war and away from Russi. So of course he’s advocating for other allies to enter in Iran – it benefits a country that already has the odds stacked against them

      Of course Zelensky wants to see such a regime toppled/weakened.

      Zelenskyy not last week said that – do not look at rhetoric look at action when queried about Trumps insistence that they never sought Ukraine help with drones.

      So just ignore rhetoric because clearly what he is doing is just pandering to trump to ensure that US doesn’t turn against Ukraine

      Zelensky is right that Iran is a major backer of Russia and now that the war has started, we need to finish it in a way that benefits the West, not weakens it.

      However, neither Zelensky nor Trump have articulated any sort of coherent plan for how we get from here to there, and responsible leaders are not super keen to just send their young men and women into another open-ended Middle Eastern war with ill defined goals and no “off-ramp”.

      Not to mention that most Prime Ministers in NATO don’t have the unfettered executive branch powers of POTUS. They need to go to the legislature for permission to embark on a war of choice.

      I actually think that many or most NATO allies would be willing to assist if Washington was able to articulate a war plan they can put in front of their (ie the NATO allies’) various parliaments for approval. One that opens the Straight of Hormuz by some other means than either (1) running the gauntlet of IRGC missiles and suicide boats or (2) occupying western Iran.

      I know I’ll probably get shit for this because anything remotely negative about Zelensky sort of does around here but I’m starting to think that Zelensky just straight up doesn’t get US politics. From his desire to „Stay out of it“ during the election to his repeated attempts to get on Trump’s good side even though Trump will never give a shit, and now this. This war is immensely unpopular both within the US and around the world and it would be a mistake to attach yourself to it even if Iran has helped Russia in it’s war against ukraine, especially considering the US is doing to Iran something very similar to what Russia did to them. 

      It’s just one tone deaf mis step after another. Now has the US failed him and Ukraine? Yes, especially now but even during Biden and Obama we didn’t do enough early enough. What we are allowing to happen to the Ukrainian people is inexcusable and it’s nobody’s fault but our own. Nothing will change that. But Zelensky’s handling of Russian interference in US politics and just Trump in general has been absolutely disastrous.

      Edit: you can see it in the comments even now with the „oh hes masterfully playing 3D chess with trump“ sentiments. Well if he is then he’s playing terribly and getting his ass beat I’m sorry to say. I think leaders outside of the US and especially in Europe havent been subjected to Trump’s insanity for very long as they were largely shielded from the worst of him during his first term and theyre all playing by a playbook that doesnt work anymore. You have to go for the throat (metaphorically.. in minecraft) with Trump, you can’t finesse him any more than you can finesse a raving lunatic on bath salts. He looks at gratitude and generosity as weaknesses to be exploited. Zelensky won’t get shit for helping here except fir a deteriorating political environment

      Well, irans leaders are the only ones prepared to die defending their country from an unwarranted invasion …

      I haven’t seen any key figure deaths in Russia, Ukraine or the USA as a result of these unnecessary wars
