    Hungary is wrong.
The name Tamás comes from the Aramaic or Hebrew Te’oma, from wich it went to greek (Thomas). Easy to tell because it is a name of a Bible caracter.

  2. This is a weird map… Norse is also Germanic, just as old English is as well.

In Romania’s case it’s half Greek half Hebrew.

    Nicusor – Greek

    Dan – Hebrew.

Netherlands: Willem (Germanic) Alexander (Greek) and yes, it is one name with two parts

First names? Kazakhstan’s is also Persian, since the name is hyphenated

  6. The president of Kazakhstan has a double name. Kassym-Jomart. And while Kassym is Arabic in origin. Jomart is not. It’s of Persian origin.

I was confused for a second, because I thought Jonas was from Hebrew. But then I remembered that King Harald is technically our head of state, I guess.

    Karol Tadeusz Nawrocki

    – Karol from Germanic Karl

    – Tadeusz is from Aramaic Taddai, and later from Greek/Latin Thaddaeus

    So, shouldn’t be Poland striped?

  9. Swedish King Charles and British King Charles are in different categories despite sharing a name.

  10. The name Constantine is certainly latin, but also largely abandoned in the latin world – in contrast it is very popular in Greece.
