  1. Basicly-Inevitable on

Antibiotics can both save your life, and mess up your system.

This is why we need more poop transplants.

    Not a joke.

  2. I work at an urgent care and it always seems like the people who actually need them don’t want them (“I don’t take antibiotics!”) or people come in with 3 days of cold symptoms and say “I’m just here for antibiotics.” Lol yeah let’s get you a bottle of antibiotics for your virus that’s making you mildly uncomfortable

  3. Makes sense. Hopefully someday we will develop more targeted antibiotics, as well as better methods to restore our normal gut flora after taking medicines.

I had Salmonella in my 20’s, started putting on weight, and my guts have never been the same since. Was it the Salmonella, or the antibiotics used to treat it?

  5. Just had a dose of antibiotics and ended up with skin fungal infection cause the antibiotics kill the good bacteria on skin that would have fought the fungus in the first place 🙄

  6. I was put on doxycyline many times for acne. I also took amoxicillin many times for chronic sinus infections. I’m sure my gut health is forever fucked up at this point.
