      Maybe time to reign in the conspiracy theories a bit. We are not at war with Russia, there are still diplomatic channels.

      He’s probably saying either 1: such a political decision will haunt the rest of his career (seizing foreign assets is not only unlawful but also would drastically reduce global trust in investing in the EU) or 2: he will get Putined and probably not die of old age.

      The way I see it the risk is as follows, Belgium confiscates the russian money and europe gives it to ukaine. Sometime in the future peace happens, in the peace terms Russia demands the money back and Belgium is pressured in supplying it for the sake of peace.
