They don’t need to praise Carney. What matters is that they see the substance of what he said in Davos, realize it isn’t just political posturing, and most importantly, agree with us and want to work together with like-minded middle powers.
It’s nice and all that they recognized him but more important that everyone realize we’re in this together, and nobody is coming to save us – certainly not specific long-term allies who are now not enemies per se, but at least antagonists.
It almost sounded like trump’s cabinet meetings were everyone kisses his behind.
We know that was an amazing leadership move. Lets get working together ❤️
> “The speech you gave in Davos, I have never experienced anything like this,” Ms. Frederiksen said. “I don’t think I have ever heard so many reflections on a speech from a colleague as I have heard about your speech.”
lol
That’s our PM!
Proud to have such a well respected man representing our wonderful country !
Closer relations with all the folks who know how to make arctic-ready equipment and how to fight in the cold? Let’s go!
Also, while the NYT chooses to focus on the “praise” angle, what I hear from the Nordic leaders is a respect for Carney’s clarity of thinking/mission, and an appreciation of Canada as a sane and reliable partner – all things that I can happily get behind.
