Are all the countries who refuse going to get punished with more tariffs?

Looks like you’re all alone Pedo Don. Guess it’s time to send the US army that your minister of war brags about all the time.

In 2 hours Donnie is gonna demand Japan send the battleship Yamato to beach itself in Iran and act as a stationary firing point until destroyed

Master minds at our defense department. Disrespect and make enemies of your allies before going to war.

Trump was certainly counting on Japan on this one. Carney’s recent charm offensive which apparently went extremely well 10 days ago when he was in Japan doing new trade deals between Japan and Canada is going to get the blame. When in doubt blame Canada. That is Trump’s motto…..

Good. There is certainly a Japanese word for „quagmire“ which the minister was thinking but didn’t say out loud..

I honestly dont understand why hes asking for help. Even with the rampant mismanagement and unhinged leaders in play, the US military is a force to be reckoned with. Why are they seemingly incapable to securing the strait? There must be more to this story that isnt common knowledge.

I thought the problem in the straights was just a US Israel one.

Iran is letting all the other tankers through. Why get involved if you don’t have a problem.

  11. Wait hold up. I thought Trump was like, the master of negotiation? The most brilliant stable genius businessman of all time? Why everyone telling him no???

Is it possible he was … exaggerating? And everyone who bought his shtick are a bunch of fuckin‘ rubes!?!?

„no, no, it’s ALL OF THE OTHER WORLD LEADERS WHO ARE WRONG.“

    /s, you fucking MAGA traitors

  12. Trump fucks up so badly but he still think he’s invincible. Time for the rest of us who get his tariff to wake up and put him down yourself

  13. Come on! We expect better from the department of war, do it yourself! Dont have to ask help like you mentioned before. Fight the already-won war.

Very good Japan. Other nations should do the same. Ignore all the fk threats from US to send war ships.
The war have already been won by US. There are no need to send war ships.

  15. Felon trump only has himself to blame. His administration belittled and attacked allies repeatedly. Going after them financial and even making threats. On top of that, when entering the war he went it alone with israel. So of course no one really wants to help out since the very beginning was just awful (and illegal).

So yeah, good on them for not lending a hand. This is israels and trumps war.

  16. Why beat NATO militarily when you can just get a reality tv star elected and he’ll self destruct the whole thing

  17. Lol, this is so fucking hilarious, he literally ending up as the most pathetic president the US has ever had. Like even Bush had at least some suave to him, Trump starting to really find out he had no friends no allies no one, I really hope before he does he realizes his legacy ends like his diapers full of shit.

Trump is on the ropes now as more and more countries refuse to get dragged into HIS illegal ‚excursion.

Any decision to send ships to the Strait of Hormuz just to escort commercial shipping would bring a very real possibility of those ships becoming embroiled in the conflict itself and that would only lead to further escalation of a war that has directly impacted over 12 countries thus far.

I’d suggest that any attempt by Trump to use tariffs to punish those who refuse his calls to participate would be guaranteed to backfire.

The world is getting tired of Trump and his irrational behavior and countries have already started to take steps to restrict their historic reliance of the US as both a trading partner and defense ally.

As he should. This isn’t Japan’s problem to solve. Well done, sir.

The “tariff everything until morale improves” strategy is certainly a choice

I don’t get how a lot of people are thinking Japan refused. I don’t know who at Bloomberg decided to ignore any nuance Takaichi and Koizumi said, because it’s not a denial of the request. At least, reading Japanese news and listening to the footage doesn’t give me the same impression as many Anglophonic outlets are putting out.

First there has been no formal request for Japan to send warships. Takaichi is set to meet Trump on the 19th, and given her track record with Trump it is likely that the official request will be given then.

Second, both Koizumi and Takaichi said that it’s undecided if Japan will send warships because there has been no formal request, and that they are thinking of what Japan could do within the boundaries of the law.

Even with face value, it’s the typical avoidance of an definitely answer. They haven’t said anything concrete.

Now add the fact that Takaichi is remarkably bad at diplomacy and a Trump fan. Add the fact that Takaichi skipped a meeting with multiple MENA officials that Japan invited them to attend. Now add that Takaichi’s far right politics has continuously tried to expand the legal and constitutional capabilities of the SDF, and been actively trying to revoke the ban on weapons export from Japan. Now add the fact that Takaichi and her party has recently been building ties with Israel, Palantir, and other stakeholders in the Iran war. Hell, you can even throw in Takaichi’s massive (but kinda ignored) scandal with Unification Church.

I am not so sure if Japan will maintain the refusal to send warships. If anything, I would be surprised if they refuse.
