>London has taken deliberate action over the past 15 years to improve the city’s air quality. Initiatives including the expansions of the congestion charge zone and the Ultra Low Emission Zonehave had a huge impact on the capital’s air pollution. And the increase in cycle lanes and electric cars have also contributed to this vast improvement.
It’s a shame there aren’t any other UK cities in their comparison to see how much of this is the impact of London-specific policies, and how much of it is general improvements to things like fuel efficiency, increasing numbers of EVs, decreases in coal burning, etc.
We need stricter rules like ULEZ in the countryside not just cities. We had some horrible smog earlier this month and it was horrible to work outside in.
This will be in part due to all the cameras that people think are such an infringement on their lives?
