    Crazy how Oman went from being a colony, to forming their own colonial empire which streched into Africa all the way south to modern-day Tanzania, gradually lost it over time, and went back to being a colony, and then gained independence, all within a timespan of some 400 odd years.

    Too bad we could not reinstate the Kingdom of Hormuz. Might lower prices at the gas pump these days…

    Fun Fact: Some of these cities/villages have portuguese versions of their names like ***Khawr Fakkan*** in portuguese is called ***Corfação***
