  1. Cyprus (63%), Malta (61%) and Slovenia (55%) showed the highest percentage of support for the statement and Sweden (34%), Germany (34%) and the Netherlands (34%) the lowest.

We should ship all the feminists to the Middle East and Africa so they can fight against real oppression.

Sweden and Netherlands are always winning and the least problematic in these social rankings. Even 34% is worrying but still better than the rest.

This is the ultimate result of social media regarding any topic.

Given how engagement and algorithms work, only the least intelligent, lowest common denominator, most aggressive and incendiary discourse rises to the top, which causes the average person that’s more moderate but not specially insightful or self aware to become bombarded by such discourse to the point where they either adapt it or lash out against, usually by turning to the other ideological extreme.

The very basic notion that aspiring to more equality for women gets turned into deranged extremism against men, then the backlash happens where since such extremism is now associated with the whole notion of feminism then that must surely mean the whole thing was a farce from the start, women aren’t on average discriminated, the must in fact be favored by society.

Basically, human beings did not evolve for anything like this, there was no evolutionary pressure to become beings that can think rationally and logically regarding complex cultural-social issues amidst the shallow information bombardment of social media.

And peoples and governments are generally lazy and short term thinkers, so 20 years after these social media monsters emerged there’s only barely some push to try and maybe do something about it, long after human society has been fundamentally changed and harmed by them.

  5. What does „gone too far“ mean? Equal salaries and opportunities for men and women?

What does ‘’gone too far’’ mean? My answer on the question depends on the context.

  7. I think when they hear what Sabrina Carpenter does its like 20 percent plus more people

Technically some feminism has gone too far (like the people who want to check women’s (and girls‘) genitals before letting them into female spaces and sports, or the ones who transvestigate so much to the point of calling even cis women men), but to generalize like this is nonsense.

Next they’ll want to earn the same money for the same work.

    Preposterous.

Curious what the answers would be if you separated 2nd and 3rd wave feminism, which had very different messaging. If you polled these people and said “should women and men be paid and treated the same?” The answer would probably be significantly better.

There’s feminism, and there’s „feminism“. Difference be that one group is fighting for equality, and disbands when their reasonable demands are met, and the other is a bunch of entitled brats constantly demanding benefits with no responsibilities, further driving a wedge between men and women.

I do believe that the former got out of hand, soiling the work and name of the latter.

I realize this is an EU poll so it won’t make sense to include the UK, but if I remember correctly they recently had some woman fictional far right wing character in some PSA backfire and now all the far right chuds in the UK are shooting ropes to their fashy waifu or whatever 🙄

  13. Map is shit. The Eurobarometer it mention as source doesn’t exist.
The closest to it is a survey on Gender stereotype published Dec 2024. And nowhere in the survey is there data about feminism „going to far“
This is ignorant at best and blatant misinformation at worse.

I assume both men and women responded. If only men were counted the figures would be even higher.

  15. As someone from slovenia, a lot of people dont know what feminism is and we have strong feminist organisation that won a fight for safe abortion in eu

  16. Confident-Estimate-8 on

The higher the percentage, the more this country needs feminism
