Freedom of press is the normal standard for established democracies.

Ukraine upholding this principle during war times shows their commitment to democracy, free speech and freedom of opinion.

The trump regime prioritizing right wing propaganda outlets over actual journalists shows their efforts to rebuild the US into a totalitarian tech oligarchy.

  2. The United States currently ranks 57th in terms of press freedom. However, since the list dates from May of last year, the U.S. is likely to drop significantly, given everything that has happened with the media there since then.

Sadly true. US as it stands today is far from being a beacon of liberty or western values.

Well done this kind of reporting needs to be highlighted Americans have lost their free press and are now following the Kremlins blueprint . Trump set this up , the fall Independence and freedom in reporting , in his first term by classifying anything he didn’t like as fake.

There is no doubt that Zelensky is the leader of the Free World.

  7. I am a Canadian, and the number one reason why I support Ukraine, is because they ARE carrying the flame of democracy and free speech. The world hinges on Ukraine.

  8. in ukraine they are fighting for democracy.

in the u.s. they are fighting democracy

  9. Did you ask him any difficult questions? For instance, Why didn’t he believe the US and UK when they told him Russia was going to invade? Zaluzhny listened to Ukraine’s friends and wanted to get prepared. Zelensky wouldn’t allow it until the final few days before it happened. Or maybe, Why did Zelensky listen to Yermak’s advice on the counteroffensive and split the attack into multiple directions rather than following the plans created by the Pentagon, the UK MOD and the Ukrainian military? I’m guessing topics like that were avoided.

Its quite simple. Zelensky is a decent, honest man doing his best in extraordinarily difficult circumstances and Trump is a piece of shit.

That’s because Ukraine elected a smart comedian. The US elected a dumb joke.

  12. When trump accuses you of something, stupid people wont believe you when you say its actually him. Thats why its so scary when russia says they need to ‘de-nazify’ Ukraine, they (russia) know they are Nazi’s and want to do Nazi things.

It’s both inspiring and disheartening that a country at war and under marshall law has better press freedoms than my own.

  14. Now I am going against *all* my better instincts here but, could one not just draw an analogy with zelensky allowing in a pro- kremlin journo – or not? Like he will have done his research on you prior.

Trump won’t let it Anti Trump media, neither will zelensyky let in anti- ukr.

I mean, one is in a state of war, the other not. So it is a false equivalence. But, at the same time- dont open yourself to such easy rebuttals from the other side.

I like the guy, but cooome, on. I would be a little shocked if he isn’t „looked“ after, at least a little, by Ukraine.

Also, implying that he can report on whatever he wants from the front lines would be a massive security risk. I don’t believe that.
