      That is showing the STATE of New York, not a „megacity“….. or am I confused?

      TBF to the original OP, the ridiculous size of Chongqing’s metro area is one of the first things mentioned on its Wikipedia page, so it is kind remarkable.

      “The municipality covers a large geographical area roughly the size of Austria.”

      maps like this always mess with my brain because i forget how massive new york state actually is… in my head it’s just “nyc and then some trees up north” until you see comparisons like this
