      For example: the state named high command in Arabic is called Dhamar which was named after the Himyarite king **Dhamarʿalī Yuhabirr** **bin Yāsir Yuhaṣdiq** (Ḏmrʿly Yhbr), was the *king of* [*Saba‘ and ḏu-Raydān*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rulers_of_Saba_and_Himyar#Kings_of_Saba'_&_Dhu_Raydan) from c. 135 to 175 CE. He ascended the [Himyarite](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himyarite_Kingdom) throne amidst clashes between Sabaʾ and [Ḥimyar](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E1%B8%A4imyar).

      While Hadramout does translate to the arrival of death or death has come to be more precise, The name it self is rumoured to have been the name of one of Saba’s 10 sons who prothet mohammed spoke about in one of his hadiths. (Pbuh mohammed didnt mentions the names but did speak of saba and his 10 sones who muslims scholers include as one of them)

      it’s interesting how literal translations often sound harsher or more dramatic than the original meaning. a lot of place names come from old tribal names, geography, or historical events. once translated word-for-word they end up sounding almost mythical

      Many of these places are named after the most common cause of death in that region, such as scorpion sting, blazing heat, and skilled equestrian woman (somebody should really stop her)
